EasyChair Preprint no. 8939

6 pagesDate: October 3, 2022

Abstract

Since the 21st century, the greenhouse effect caused by human activities, the resulting global climate change, and the impact on the ecological environment have been gaining increasing attention. Forest resources, as an important component of the global ecosystem, become the focus of people's attention. Firstly, the author adopts a data statistics method to discuss the impact of climate change on forest ecosystems in the 21st century, such as the frequency and extent of forest fires, biodiversity, and forest distribution area. Secondly, the author analyzes and summarizes various challenges to China's forest resources caused by climate change, including increased frequency and damage of wildfires, lower future growth rates of forest productivity, and changes in rainfall patterns, etc. Finally, in response to the various risks and challenges mentioned above, preventive measures like adjusting the length of the rotation period, and improving forest disaster monitoring technology, as well as compensatory measures for afforestation are suggested to promote better development for climate and forest ecosystems.
