Abstract

In the era of industry 4.0, all industries must be agile and aware of the transformation occurring in social and technological terms. Textile, as a major industry, must be aware of this digital transformation and technological evolution commonly identified as Textile 4.0. The main objective of this article is to provide a comprehensive overview of the textile industry in the past, present, and future. The main challenges of this industry are analyzed with a particular focus on technological and social transitions. This paper identifies and highlights the major issues and the different road maps decided by different countries.
