Smart Dustbin Management System Based on IoT

Abstract

In this project, smart bin is constructed on a micro-controller based platform NodeMCU , PIR sensor and Ultrasonic sensor. Ultrasonic sensor is placed at the top of the dustbin which will measure the level of the dustbin and also PIR sensor used with buzzer to indicate if bin is filled. if the dustbin reaches the maximum level, ultrasonic sensor will trigger the NodeMCU which will send the message to authority that the dustbin is filled and process updated in IOT platform. We can also determine the usage of non-biodegradable wastes based on the filling count of dustbin in particular area.
