This article presents results obtained from an "experimental dome" prototype, installed in cold and frosty areas for high altitudes, in order to house tourists and / or care for victims of natural disasters. The dome is based on capturing solar energy through thermal accumulators (TES) with phase change materials (PCM), using air as a transport vehicle. The 50 m2 base experimental dome was installed in the city of Urubamba-Cusco, in which all the components of the heating system have been designed, which allowed analyzing the behavior of the thermal insulation, the materials and equipment used. The results of the piloting were obtained during three cold months: May, June and July of the year 2015, whose investigation carried out is applied semi-empirical and explanatory of correlational type, for which the balance of thermal loads was carried out, determining the mathematical models, using multiple linear regression, and rotational factorial design 23, which allowed determining the optimal values ​​of temperature (Ti) and relative humidity (HRi) inside the dome, as a function of the dynamic variation over time of the environmental parameters and design. Its technical economic viability was evaluated, which made it possible to determine its profitability by applying the Payback method, whose capital recovery from the PCM was three and a half years; Energy savings and reduction of environmental impact were also evaluated. Finally, it was financed by the FENCYT through the company “Domos Perú”.
