The literature shows that wind farms with doubly-fed induction generators (DFIG) have negative resistance at certain frequencies and, when connected to grids with series compensation, they reduce the system's damping, causing subsynchronous oscillations to appear. The use of grid-forming inverters (GFM) is a possible mitigation alternative. This work shows, through frequency scanning, that the GFM inverter increases system damping and in fact serves as a mitigation measure for subsynchronous oscillation phenomena.
