The dynamics of disasters, both natural and human-induced, have grown increasingly complex and impactful in recent years. The rising frequency and severity of disasters such as earthquakes, floods, wildfires, epidemics and technological failures are driven by factors including urbanization, climate change, and global interconnectivity. These challenges emphasize the urgent need for comprehensive disaster management strategies that integrate advanced technologies, predictive modeling, and interdisciplinary collaboration to enhance disaster prevention, mitigation, and resilience.

To address these critical issues, Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology (NUIST) will host the 8th International Conference on Dynamics of Disasters (DOD 2025) from August 4 to 6, 2025, in Nanjing, China. The conference will provide a platform for researchers, practitioners, and policymakers to exchange knowledge and explore innovative solutions in disaster dynamics.

Submission Guidelines

All papers must be original. The following paper categories are welcome: Full papers or abstracts describing disaster prediction and assessment, numerical simulations and experimental techniques, emerging technologies in disaster dynamics, disaster response and risk management, post-disaster recovery and resilience, and policy and governance in disaster management.
