The International Conference on Science, Technology and Innovation for Society (CITIS), organized by the Universidad Politécnica Salesiana (UPS) in Guayaquil, has established itself as a regional benchmark since 2014. This annual event brings together world-class researchers and academics to share their latest investigations and visions on global challenges. CITIS 2026 invites researchers, academics, and professionals to submit original, high-quality papers presenting innovative research at the intersection of science, technology, and society. All submissions must be written in English and will undergo a rigorous double-blind peer-review process.
Submission Guidelines
Before submitting, authors must ensure their manuscripts strictly comply with the following technical guidelines:
- Format & Template: Papers must be formatted exclusively according to the Springer Lecture Notes in Networks and Systems (LNNS) templates (Word or LaTeX). Submissions in other formats (IEEE, ACM, etc.) will not be accepted.
- Page Length: Manuscripts must be full papers with a strict length of 12 to 15 pages (including all figures, tables, and references). Short papers (under 12 pages) or over-length submissions (exceeding 15 pages) will be automatically subject to desk rejection.
- Co-authorship Limit: To foster extensive collaborative and multidisciplinary research, a maximum of 6 authors per manuscript is permitted.
- Anonymity (Double-Blind Review): The uploaded PDF must NOT contain author names, affiliations, emails, or explicit acknowledgments that reveal identity. Authors must also ensure that metadata identifying the creators is removed from the file properties. All author details must only be entered in the EasyChair metadata fields.
- Language: The entire paper, including tables, figures, and captions, must be written in English. Papers that do not meet this requirement will be immediately rejected (desk rejection).
- Originality and thematic alignment: Content must be original and aligned with at least one conference theme. All submissions will undergo a plagiarism analysis before peer review.
- Self-citation: Papers in which more than 20% of the references correspond to authors of the same paper will be automatically rejected (desk rejection).
- Accuracy and quality of graphical elements: Verify the accuracy of citations, diagrams, maps, and tables. All figures and tables must be inserted in the appropriate places in the text, as high-resolution, print-quality images.
- Use of generative artificial intelligence: All papers must include an AI usage statement detailing its purpose and scope within the work. The authors assume full responsibility for all content in the paper.
- Submission: All submissions must be made electronically in PDF format via the EasyChair platform.
Note: These guidelines override previous limitations. For template downloads and full compliance details, authors should cross-reference this submission portal with the official portal guidelines. https://citis.ups.edu.ec/call-for-papers/instructions-for-authors/
