With the rapid development of generative AI and the digital economy, software engineering education is entering a new era. As emerging technologies reshape industries worldwide, the need for innovative, industry-oriented software education becomes more pressing. Through the Belt and Road initiative, China and Europe are deepening cooperation in software engineering, digital economy, IT industry, and talent cultivation, working together to address the challenges posed by new technologies, new economies, and new paradigms.

Since 2005, the China-Europe International Symposium on Software Engineering Education (CEISEE) has successfully held 20 sessions across China and Europe, becoming a prominent platform for educational institutions, software industry professionals, and educational authorities to exchange visions, share experiences, and discuss strategies for advancing software engineering education. Over the years, CEISEE has attracted more than 1,600 scholars from 26 countries, gaining widespread recognition and influence.

The 21st China-Europe International Symposium on Software Engineering Education (CEISEE 2025) will be held in Hangzhou, China during September 20 to 21, 2025. We invite experts, educators, engineers, and managers from academia and industry to contribute and participate in this influential event.

The theme of CEISEE 2025 is "GenAI Empowers Software Engineering Education for Student Competency." This conference will focus on exploring innovative approaches to software engineering education, including AI-driven strategies for enhancing education, new models and reforms in software engineering education, interdisciplinary education in AI, big data, cloud computing, IoT, and other emerging technologies, as well as industry-academia collaboration, quality assurance, and professional accreditation. CEISEE 2025 aims to inspire the community of software engineering education and IT professional cultivation to address the challenges and opportunities brought by generative AI and the digital era.

Submissions and Publications

The topics of CEISEE 2025 include (but not limited to):

• Authors are invited to submit research contributions or reports of practical experience related to the symposium topics in the form of PDF document files (.pdf).
• FULL papers, normally 5 to 8 pages, must be submitted via EasyChair: https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=ceisee2025.
• Submissions should be written in English.
• Correspondence will be sent to the first-named author unless otherwise indicated.
• The papers will be peer-reviewed by the program committee.
• Authors of accepted papers must orally present their papers on the symposium, otherwise the papers would not be included in the proceedings.
• Accepted papers will be published in the journal - Computer Education. Publication fee should be paid directly to the editorial office.
