Virtual Campuses are an inherent part of higher education institutions as support tools for teaching in any of its modalities. These tools are part of the technological ecosystem of educational institutions, and other tools have been incorporated over time to meet the various needs that accompany the different current teaching-learning scenarios.
In this way, the XIV International Virtual Campus Conference will pay special attention to these new educational scenarios, as well as to the adaptation of face-to-face teaching to virtual or remote teaching, online evaluation processes, data protection, technological platforms and ecosystems, the increase in data traffic, the resizing of virtual campus systems, streaming and videoconferencing systems, virtual and remote laboratories, adaptation of face-to-face practices to online practices, or teleworking and distance learning in companies, among other situations derived from the adaptation of teaching to current technological demand.
However, this digital transformation is not only a technological issue; it is a transformation that involves people and is for people. In this line, issues related to equality and diversity, respect for privacy, and an ethical approach to the use of technologies become of paramount importance that also wants to be put at the forefront of reflection and practice in this conference.
Likewise, as in previous editions, the XIV International Virtual Campus Conference aims to consolidate the international and multidisciplinary community working to develop virtual teaching in institutions. The areas of work range from educational innovation, quality assurance systems, technological infrastructure and the development of support tools, design, development, and publication of digital educational content and courses, training of teachers, students, managers, and technicians, virtualization and internationalization of teaching, or opening to society through collaborations with companies and organizations, among other areas of growing interest for this community.
