CoPaMo – International Workshop on Collaborative and Participatory Modeling
Co-located with ACM/IEEE MODELS’26
October 4-9, 2025
Malaga, Spain
We invite submissions to the third International Workshop on Collaborative and Participatory Modeling (CoPaMo).
As systems grow increasingly complex, model-driven and model-based engineering demands collaboration among diverse stakeholders. Collaborative modeling requires not only technical solutions (such as real-time coordination, conflict management, and multi-view consistency) but also effective communication and low barriers to participation. Participatory modeling complements this by structuring stakeholder engagement to elicit and refine models. Exploring the synergies between collaborative and participatory approaches is timely and essential.
Topics of interest
The topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
- Technical facets of collaborative modeling
- Real-time collaboration;
- Version control systems and techniques for asynchronous collaboration;
- Multi-paradigm, multi-view, and multi-level aspects of collaboration;
- Consistency in collaborative MDE, conflict management;
- Choosing, designing, and applying appropriate tools and methods to support participation given a project’s needs and the participants’ profiles;
- Integrating collaborative modeling with emerging AI techniques;
- HCI and HMI as key enablers of human-AI collaboration;
- LLMs and other forms of AI as collaborative partners or tools.
- Organizational and human facets of participatory modeling
- Languages, tools, and facilitation for participatory modeling sessions;
- Involving domain experts without modeling experience;
- Use cases and preconditions of participatory modeling.
- Synergies between collaborative and participatory modeling; mixed tool-based/in-person collaboration models
- Tools in support of collaborative and participatory modeling
Paper formatWe solicit the following types of papers.
- Full research papers (up to 10 pages) reporting on novel scientific contributions,
- Short papers (5 pages), reporting on works in progress, preliminary results, new ideas; and collaborative tools and frameworks.
The page limits include references and appendices.
Important Dates:
- July 3, 2026 - Paper submission deadline.
- July 31, 2026 - Author notification.
- August 14, 2026 - Camera-ready deadline.
Submission and proceedings
