Over the past few decades, mixed and augmented reality (MR/AR) have evolved from experimental research technologies into systems that increasingly impact industries and society worldwide. Advances in sensing, display technologies, interaction techniques, and computational capabilities have made MR/AR applications more practical, diverse, and sophisticated, enabling people to experience digital information in more intuitive, interactive, and immersive ways.
The Asia-Pacific Workshop on Mixed and Augmented Reality (APMAR) continues the legacy of the Korea-Japan Workshop on Mixed Reality (KJMR), which began in 2008. Since its expansion in 2016, APMAR has played an important role in promoting mixed reality research and collaboration across the Asia-Pacific region. The workshop provides a friendly and focused environment for researchers, practitioners, and students to present their work, exchange ideas, and engage with experts in the field.
APMAR 2026 will be held on August 3–5, 2026, in Taipei, Taiwan, at the National Taipei University of Technology (NTUT). The event will be organized in conjunction with TAICHI 2026 (Taiwanese Association of Computer–Human Interaction Annual Conference) and co-located with ISAT (International Symposium on Art & Technology), creating opportunities for interdisciplinary dialogue across mixed reality, human–computer interaction, digital art, and creative technologies. Through this collaboration, APMAR 2026 aims to foster international exchange and provide a welcoming platform for sharing research results and practical experiences in an open and collaborative atmosphere.
