About the Symposium
Welcome to a unique two and a half-day event that brings together two pioneering workshops:
- AHEAD2026 – The 1st Workshop on Artificial Intelligence and Assessment Design, exploring how generative and agentic AI are reshaping Higher Education. Key themes include AI-driven assessment redesign, academic integrity, and authentic learning strategies.
- NWISEd – The 4th Workshop on Co-Creating New Ways of Information Systems Education, focusing on innovative, collaborative approaches to teaching Information Systems in the AI era.
- AI in Higher education Collaborative Funding Lab - designed to allow the co-creation and collaborative development of a large funding bid for AI in HEI policy and practice
This symposium is a space for dialogue, collaboration, and innovation. Academics, researchers, students, industry leaders, and policymakers will come together to address one of the most pressing challenges in Higher Education: rethinking teaching, learning, and assessment in the age of generative AI. Day 2 will spotlight Information Systems education and co-creation strategies for the future.
Submission Guidelines
All papers must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference. The following paper categories are welcome:
The symposium welcomes submissions in a variety of formats. Papers can range from 6 to 12 pages, including short papers for work-in-progress, technical reports, position papers, and case studies. Contributions may present emerging ideas, experiments, prototypes, policy perspectives, or real-world examples of AI-enabled assessment redesign. In addition, we invite workshop proposals and special session proposals (2–3 pages) for interactive sessions, thematic panels, and collaborative activities.
Papers should be original contributions and should not be accepted or submitted elsewhere until the decisions of the AHEAD/NWISEd 2026 program committee are announced. All contributions should be in PDF format and should be submitted electronically via the EasyChair submission system before the deadline.
