2024 Annual Meeting

DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS: DECEMBER 4, 2023
The Southwestern Society of Economists (SSE) announces its annual meeting in Galveston, Texas in association with the annual meeting of the Federation of Business Disciplines (FBD). The conference will be held in the beautiful Moody Gardens Hotel & Convention Center, a 242-acre property that boasts exciting family-friendly activities such as an aquarium, rainforest, museum, paddleboat, playground, pools, and two theatres. We invite and encourage members of the SSE, academicians, practitioners, and doctoral students to be involved in some capacity by:
- Presenting a paper on a topic of interest to both academicians and practitioners.
- Organizing an invited paper session, invited panel, or tutorial.
- Serving as a session chair and/or paper discussant.
- Participating in Poster Sessions: Please submit a 2-page abstract plus a draft of the final poster of the research. This venue is ideal for undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students.
Also, consider:
- Submitting a paper for the 2024 McGraw-Hill/Irwin Distinguished Paper Award. There will be an award for the distinguished reseaech paper.
- Encouraging a graduate student to submit paper(s). There will be an award for the best graduate paper.
- Encouraging an undergraduate student to submit paper(s). There will be an award for the best undergraduate paper.
- Nominating a candidate for the 2024 FBD Outstanding Educator Award.
